They keep trying to “ simulate a short barrel effect” by building in randomness to the accuracy... which is infuriating.... but they keep doing it. I just don’t use them.

Reduce AA and get rid of bloom. Should be based off skill, not luck.

  • Shorter barrels are not inherently less accurate. However, they are more difficult to shoot accurately due to their shorter sight radius. Shorter barrels also result in a shorter effective range due to lower bullet velocity compared to the same gun with a longer barrel, when using the same ammo in both.

  • Yes, but to simulate that with rng accuracy is infuriating.

True. There are times when I know I could make a given shot with the weapon type I was using in reality. But it's a game and it has it's own, often hidden and/or unknown rules so to speak. Or perhaps a bug. Don't let it frustrate you. I find that if something isn't working for me and I try something else I will find a way that does, eventually. ;) In summary: - Hand cannons are not as good in D2 as they were in D1. I got that. - Handguns are useful only when you can't carry something better. - You transition to your sidearm when you're out of ammo for your rifle or you can't clear a malfunction in a timely manner, or at all. - To fight your way to the rifle you shouldn't have dropped/set down.
