Asteroid almost hits Earth on next Thursday
Earth needs an asteroid defense system. I don't want to live underground for years and then come up to die in an endless winter.

How about taking a knee, or better yet ask the NFL players or all pro sports athletes to take a knee. Just to bring awareness that we need an asteroid defense system. With their platform, the message would be broadcasted to a large audience.

Edited by Zeldasavvy64: 10/8/2017 5:41:15 PMYou act like this kind of thing doesn't happen that often. If it's a near Miss, then we'll probably just be able to see it pass by without affecting us. Asteroids come towards Earth all the time, but they're too small to survive entry to the Earth's atmosphere. The earth doesn't need to waste time and money on a defence system that we'll have a miniscule chance of using. If there ever is a problem, we could probably just launch something at the asteroid, blowing it up into pieces too small to survive the atmosphere.
