None of them. Not even Buddhism. Just let that sink in: there are violent Buddhists.

People are going to be violent no matter what their belief is.
-
What's worse? Having to buy a cake somewhere else or being thrown off a building?
-
That wasn't the question.
-
That wasn't the question.
It's the question I just asked you
-
It's clearly a loaded question based on your arbitrarily conceived examples of the two religions mentioned in the poll. You'd be better off making your comparison using a holistic perspective of each religion, which would inevitably lead you to conclude that both exist within figurative glass houses. This is especially true considering that the OP is basing his questions on religion texts rather than the actions of today's followers.

I would also argue that the way religions treat human rights in 2017 is a bit more pressing than how they did hundreds of years ago, because we live in 2017. I would also argue that at no point in human history has Christianity been "as bad".

You mean Buddhist heros? The ones clearing out the muslim plague in Myanmar are doing what every country needs to do
-
That really shouldn't be a surprise, if I'm not mistaken they believe violence should be avoided, but it is sometimes necessary... I am not come condoning anything in recent news, just saying it should not be a surprise...

-
That's taking it too far if you ask me.
-
The guy who founded it literally starved himself to death, and yet people believe his every word.
None of them. Not even Buddhism. Just let that sink in: there are violent Buddhists.
While that may be true, I was referring to which of the two religions above was better regarding human rights in their religious texts. Naturally, all religions have followers that don't strictly follow their religion's teachings, however. Also, violent Buddhists..... *shivers*

Edited by BenjyX55: 10/6/2017 12:08:24 AMI'd say Christianity only if you're willing to completely throw out the old testament.
I'd say Christianity only if you're willing to completely throw out the new testament.
Did you mean to put New, or did you mean Old?
-
Old, yeah. Could you imagine?
-
Old, yeah. Could you imagine?
Do you also think Islam is better when compared to the OT? Islam has always reminded me a lot of the OT, considering that Islam has/had a lot of influence/inspiration from Judaism.
-
I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that the teachings of Islam are similar to those of the old testament. The big difference is that they haven't had a progressive figure like Jesus to clean things up yet.

It's not even that, so much as that it's quartered in a troubled region that's been part of a shadow war for decades. It would have been much better, had it not been centered where it is
