Another interesting thing is the link they have to exos. On Io, you can find a scannable which your ghost says is a device for interlink between the vex and exos, then he tells you to be safe and not touch it (but where's the fun in that?). There might be one other place mentioning exos and vex, but I can't remember. The fact that both of them are machines puts some type of connection with them that the vex try to use.
The area where this scannable is found is also near an objective during a side mission where the vex are hypnotized by Rasputin's music (which is a whole other story regarding the way that mission ends). So they even also have some connection to warminds which they are powerless against, or the warmind forced connections to them, which he also does to ghost.

There's a scannable on Nessus that straight up tells you the vex and exo are connected.

B) Add another one where the Ghost suggests that the Vex and Exos are connected depending on which species you play as. Though one of them suggests it's the result of Cayde's tampering. In D1 they had a trove of data about the Vex, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they found a way to repurpsoe human life force into machine bodies. Cayde's old letters suggest heavily that you become an Exo and that they aren't built. Maybe Vex are what you get when you apply a silicon based life form to machine form and exo's are what you get when you do the same to a carbon based life form. The two people we've seen operate Vex tech the most are The Stranger by her teleportation and Cayde, both are exo. There is a very clear connection.

I think it’s possible they are connected I’m just clarifying that posters statement. He made it sound like it was confirmed. When it was at best a theory within the game itself
