Random gun rolls will never happen again & they shouldn't. Skill should matter more than luck.

Yet connection completely trumps skill and luck. BTW, MIDA has 100 aim assist. Only a couple of other guns in the game have 100 AA. The current state of PVP requires notably low amounts of skill... D2 won't be taken seriously at a competitive level until the huge amount of aim assist in it is removed. That is just to start with...

That was the beauty of Destiny being a mmo rpg fps. This is more like halo now then destiny( not hating on halo. I love those games) But if I wanted to play halo I would go and do so.

Oi, PvP elitist, go away. We are talking about PvE.
-
I don't think this guy realizes his comment would be like double-digit negative likes if it was possible to go lower than zero.

If any of you want a standard Skill based FPS with no weapon rolls or random gear, where grind does NOT exist. Go Play Halo.

You're arguing skill in a game that has such strong aim assist you can literally let go of your controller and your reticle will follow your target. lolwut?
-
Skill? 😂 D2 PvP has zero skill. You are fooling yourself to think otherwise
-
Team shooting isn't skill.
-
go play overwatch then

Skill should matter more than luck, but here's the reality: 1. There's still plenty of luck involved in the current build of the game, and there always will be to a certain extent. 2. Your statement doesn't offer up a solution to the current lack of RPG elements and grinding purpose in the game. Grinding for that perfect roll of desired weapons and gear is generally something everyone favors in a game like this. The lack of it leaves a huge void. I think Destiny should really further separate PVP and PVE so that they can bring back deeper character builds and random weapon perks. It's no doubt that those factors have an effect on PVP balancing, but mitigating them to an extreme extent to the point where they barely exist is not a good solution. They could perhaps (as a rough example) make it so that certain gear/weapons are "Crucible Enabled", i.e. have limited/static perks available, and only those items can be used for Crucible whereas everything else can have random perks; this way PVP would be easier to keep balanced and provide players with clear-cut sensibilities as to which gear is tailored for PVP, etc.

I made a thread about this earlier. All Bung needs to do is have a fixed crucible weapon armory where players make 2 choices in each weapon slot (1 for trials) before loading into the current PVP game. And there is a plethora of things Bung could do with this. They could leave the armory selection fixed for the season, they could rotate it weekly, they could put quests involved with weapons (or weapon classes) into it. So much potential just sitting on the table.

I agree but it does take something away from the game. The only way to keep players engaged is going to be more content. Which claptavison assures us is coming.
