I actually agree. While people in the comments are saying nightstalker is a pve class and the others are for PvP, they are thinking in terms of destiny 1 too much. Destiny 1 nightstalker was THE hunter subclass for pve. Bungie has watered down the pve aspect for nightstalker.
When a subclass needs an exotic piece of armor to be viable then it isn't very good. Orpheus rig does allow nightstalker to recharge a super very fast, but there must be a bunch of enemies and I'd rather have a stormcaller palpatine through 10 ads then tether 10 ads that doesn't just outright kill em.
Orpheus rig only works for the trapper nightstalker.
Gunslinger is much better for pve BUT I hate the look of celestial nighthawk which greatly increases the usability of gg. They need to add the symbiote.
Finally the roll. Sure invisibility is cool, but it isn't needed. The roll is just that a roll, not a Dodge. I still get hit. "Dodge that" yea and I hit others as well.

Pretty much. I never played D1, but every one who argues that 'hunters are good IF you have this item' are missing the point. Are they saying that titans and warlocks can't equip similar items? Not really, it comes down to class fundamentals. I'd rather throw a wall or over charge my shields, but I get a instant sprint button (sorry, a roll button). On top of that hunter was advertised as the fast mobile class, not the case when titans and warlock soutsprint or out dodge from class features.

Exactly, Thank you!
