you mean why have they decided that you can't have an easier time leveling up that second hunter.. the answer is that nobody who plays other classes can cross infuse to help them level up.. so neither can you.. it doesn't penalize you at all.. it actually ensures you dont have the advantage you wanted.

At a certain point you do not gain any gear higher than your light level even from luminous engrams (that's a penalty). And why not allow cross infusing to allow characters to increase their light, I mean I went through the whole damn story again I should at least get something in return. The advantage to running two of the same characters is I don't play the one I don't want to. I don't want to be forced to play 3 different characters. I want to play the ones I want to.

Then do that and don't expect to gain an advantage that others don't have. As for a penalty once you get to a certain light, that's the power cap. Everyone deals with that

Like at 280 instead of dropping at 273-7 it's 268 or below. Abnormally low and bungee has confirmed this.

How exactly is running the same 3 characters an advantage you fanboy clown?

you run each milestone and transfer equiptment between all three identical characters, just like you could in D1 only the rewards continued to be ramped up, meaning you got to higher levels faster with all three of your characters due to transfering of both armour and weapons. In D2 you cannot do that, they cap your rewards per class and therefore you don't get the advantage or sharing gear between your hunters.. just like my hunter and titan cannot share gear to help each level up.
