whats the point of preview on exotic engrams?
everytime i get an exotic engram, i get repeats.
it seems like if you own it, then the chance is higher to get it again.
(dunemarchers for the 4th time)
i waited 25 mins for the preview list to give a list i was happy with and wouldn't have minded anything listed..... but dunemarchers dropped smh
i had the same problem on D1, the rng is made to drag out drop rates of exotics, just gets frustrating after another one comes to nothing.
also weapons drop way less than armor, put in maybe 40 hours or so and haven't had any exotic weapons drop (besides the stuff given in game like mida/strum) only armor, which i get the same thing anyway.
so whats the preview for?

I remember when I was excited to get an exotic drop, now it's literally just another engram to shard after decrypting. I miss the days of being excited for exotic drops from raids and nightfalls

Yeah, that preview feature as is, needs to be tossed. I never get anything from the selected exotics. Either scrap it, or fix it please @bungie

I agree with the duplicate exotics, but I had the exact opposite as far as weapons vs armor. I'm getting almost all weapon drops instead of armor.

The preview is only there to show you what exotics are in the game. Each engram has a chance at every exotic not just the ones in a 7 item preview.

I hear you, I've gotten the star fire protocol 6 times in a row and still counting. Its gotten to the point where I don't even care about decrypting exotics anymore because I already know what I'm getting.

Not sure the point of the previews, I've had the preview change on the same engram. One time it showed one set of items, left the tower went back later and the preview had an entirely different set of gear. Then when I decrypted it, it gives me an item that wasn't even shown on any of the previews.

10 RepliesThe only exotic weapon I have were given from the story line !! I bought the merciless from squid face up in the trees last night and about an hour after I actually got an exotic engram!! I was so excited so I run to the troll ass cryptarch and guess what I get ?? THE -blam!-ING MERCILESS !!!!

2 RepliesPreview shows a few possible rolls from an engram, not all of the possible rolls. The cycle the preview is on is so you can see what different available exotics are available as -potential- rewards from your engram.

I picked up the coldheart for the preorder bonus, then I got 2 more coldhearts from an engram, and a crucible win. Its pretty frustrating.
