Bungie definitely has a list of everyone that died, but they haven't shown us the list or even revealed if a single character has died in the Red Legion's attack (I hope Eva Levante survived) We will obtain lore in game by scanning and collecting, but this information will not be stored in a grimoire outside of the game so u better hope you memory is good. The lore will be told and implemented into the game
