•
Why would they release a new edition of a game that flopped horribly?
It didn't really flop. The game had a lot of issues, but many of them were forgiven since it wasn't a AAA game. It was still commercially successful, albeit not by a ton. Its ratings are rather average. As for why they would release it, it's because they have greatly improved the game, fixing almost everything that was wrong with it originally, finishing it and adding it another 10 or so hours worth of content at least. At half it's original price at that, and free for anyone who previously owned the game. Imo, it's nice that they didn't just forget about the game. Recore was a game full of good ideas and concepts, fun gameplay, interesting areas, etc that was held back by needless padding, repetitiveness and the obvious lack of polish. If they fix all that in a free update, as well as give even more content, I'm not complaining.
