Read to the point were oryx learned to take and killed that race in a 1000 year war.
That alone shows the grimoire has little actual connection to the game as we shouldve been fighting taken from those extinct races in greater numbers that anything else.
Such a major plothole.

Oryx needs the Hive to fight the battles, not Taken soldiers. From destruction the Hive feed their worms. They in turn give some of their life essence to Oryx and his sisters. If they used Taken soldiers from other races, they don't get the same affect. That's my understanding. However, it would have been interesting to fight remnants of the ecumene empire. Then again, the books of sorrow say Oryx destroyed them in such totality that the only place they exist is in the Books of Sorrow. Maybe it will never be.

But that justification doesnt make sense because we fight taken everything else even hive which seems counterproductive.

Taken Hive don't make much sense. However, the Dark Blade is a dissenting have leader and maybe there are other factions that Oryx may see the need to "Take." It may also be the case that he's using local resources to supplement the Hive as a temporary means to deal with us. I agree that none of this has been clarified, but I can rationalize it accordingly. And it doesn't make too little sense when you look at it that way... Don't get me wrong: Bungie needs to do a better job of story telling.

Let me clarify real fast. You said oryx doesnt use the extinct races he took because it doesnt feed the worms correct? By following that logic he would also refuse to use cabal, vex, and fallen. There is no difference between using an extinct race and those 3. A possible reason I just came up with would be that he cant replenish his supply of them and they are too valuable to use, but if thats the case what would he possibly think would be a more important battle than against us?

No. What I said was he may be using local resources, as opposed to transporting previously conquered races. Cabal, Vex, Fallen and Hive are already within our universe. The ecumene empire, which was the group with whom he waged the 1,000 year war, was completely destroyed. As in totality. Gone. Oryx acquired the power to "take" to fight them. Again, this is not gospel. It is purely my interpretation and rationalization. I assume Oryx doesn't bring conquered races as the Hive are the only race the contribute to the collective and he can simply take whatever he needs, as far as an army is concerned.

I would assume there is no "transportation" required Taken exist on a different plane and can be warped in from anywhere at any time for no cost.

Not sure about that. Otherwise would they need Hive seeders and Tomb ships? There's a lot I don't know about the Hive. Heck, there's even more about this game I don't know, for that matter.

They need the ships for the hive forces. Taken always come out of the bubbles never from ships.

I think they come from oryx himself and he is on the dreadnaught so yes. Nothing to back that up though.
