Why are Exos guardians?
So I find it weird that robots are guardians. Sense the lore as far as I know is guardians are people who were dead. Then get resurrected where as a robot it would make no sense for the flying robot to attach itself to them. Sense you could just mass produce exos.

Actually, Exos are human. During the Golden Age people found out how to put a human mind into a machine body that could hold it permanently. Cayde for example became an Exo to pay a debt to Clovis Bray, it says so in his journals (sorry don't have a link) They are human so they can carry Light like any other human A living person can be chosen as a Guardian. Shin Malphur was alive when he was paired with a Ghost. It's just that much more humans have died than are currently living, so finding a dead Guardian is much easier than finding a live one

Except nobody knows the origins of exos and they aren't considered any different than humans and awoken

4 RepliesExos were made by creating an A.I. based around a human's mind. They were sentient, and with sentience, things can have the certain qualities and values that make guardians, guardians. Nobility, Honor, that sort of thing.

Frames are what you see around the tower, sweeper bot is a frame, Kadi is a frame, Shaxx has a frame that sells the crucible stuff. But Exos are very different.. They are not normal "robots". For example, Cayde was human, but something happened to him and his mind was forced into the body of an exo when he died.. apparently exos need flesh and bone to be created. Which is kind of creepy...

Exos are not simply robots. Actually we are not even sure what they are for real and for what purpose they were built. We just know something about a war, a mysterious place where they seems to be manufacted and that they are very complex, so complex that thyy are pratically humans if not for the fact that they are made with fleshes and bones. They feel emotions, they dream, they even (it seems) drink and eat.

Makes more sense to me that the Exos can be brought back. They're just machines with a human mind put in them. They're so advanced that not even the ghosts fully understand what makes them work.
