Wait until D2, when every weapon you get is the same. No rolls. So basically, Bungie will control what weapons are the meta. You won't be able to find that god roll on your favorite weapon. D1 will have more variety because players can have great weapons in a lot of weapons based on rolls. In D2, you'll have few great weapons that everyone uses.
Not my thing. But hey. If you like that.
you'll have few great weapons that everyone uses.
You mean like every multiplayer game with weapon customization ever?
-
But like 90 percent of the weapons and rolls you got were pretty shit. Dismantling for weeks before you got a gun even worth a try. And they're not all static rolls. There will be different intrinsic perks, then you can customize your favorite feeling weapon with mods to make it basically act the way you want. We have to wait and see how mods work and the perks before we start saying it's a better or worse set up

I agree with what you're saying. If reforging were still in the game, a huge majority of all weapons would eventually share 1-2 perks across their archetype. Hand Cannons would have Rangefinder + Rifled Barrel. Autos and Pulses would have Counterbalance. Scouts would have Explosive Rounds or Triple Tap. The scopes, ballistic options, and stat altering perks would be what sets weapons apart. The new system just cuts out a huge layer of the RNG rewards system. Which can be seen as a good thing. And I think you're right. We have to see how weapon mods work and what properties they have. Personally, I hope the Gunsmith is ok. I hope he makes it out of the Tower. And I hope, after a long walk through the woods, he finally helps us to craft our own weapons. Doesn't have to be every weapon. Just the Armsday weapons.

I think what you said about static rolls on weapons is true. It's absolutely anti-player-choice. And maybe, subconsciously, that's why I made this post: to express that this roll is my roll! I chose to buy it.
-
Well I don't think that will be a concern for you will. It? Seeing as you're obviously not buying it.

Dont you mean "roles"?
-
A 'role' is a category of use or function specified in a group setting. A 'roll' would be, in the context of Destiny, a selected set of random modifiers that influence the performance of a piece of gear. So the random 'rolls' proceed to influence what 'role' that specified weapon fits.

Edited by chaewon: 8/17/2017 8:32:59 AMI know. I usually get triggered when I see someone use "role" instead or "roll".

Oh. I get what you mean.
