I'm in the same boat. Blizzard is now linked to a dummy bungie account and i can unlink it.

Just did, and it worked. That is a messed up way to do things. Should be able to just delete a duplicate bungie account

They are trying to prevent people from orphaning their bungie.net account which is permanent.
