I was a dedicated Hunter main throughout all of D1, but I'm gonna switch to Titan, at least at launch, for D2. I love the shields and the movement, and after using Shadestep so much for the past two years, I can't bring myself to use the crappy new version of it.

  • If I bothered to even play this abomination, I have considered the same. Hunter is complete garbage now, and that shield super at least looks fun. Perhaps after absolutely punishing people with that OP subclass for a while, the whiners will force Bungie to actually make some changes again, including a playable Hunter... but it just doesn't even seem worth the trouble. Maybe in six months or a year I'll consider buying it again?

  • I loved the beta, and I've had D2 preordered for a while now. I'm gonna enjoy the game, I'm just disappointed with the Hunter's new ability when it's compared to the others. I'm not super upset, though. I've always liked playing Titan, and the Sentinel class really is some of the most fun I've ever had with a subclass.

Titan is, and has always been, the strongest and (Halo-esque, if you will) lowest common denominator in the game... the most beloved son, a boyscout, our Captain America of the franchise. Which is precisely why it holds zero interest for me. It's always been the easiest skill level, and least stylish, IMO, and I'm bored by that. The Sentinel subclass looks cool, but if I'm being truly honest with myself, it's because it's basically Captain America with 'space magic', Striker is old hat (though even MORE OP than before), and everything else in the game is garbage. Imagine for a moment, if you will, that instead of a gimped out version of Darth Maul, the Arcstrider was actually something unique. Sans blink-strike as a melee, there was a similar mobility action with their spear instead. Replacing needless acrobatics for flash (which really does nothing, and is absolutely laughable in a 'super'), the idea of them getting close was actually terrifying again, and felt rewarding to the player. Or maybe Dawn Blade could, I dunno, actually USE their sword for something other than a prop (and imitating terrible Wushu dances)? I thought the beta had good points, but as for a 'fun' and 'unique' play experience with the Hunter, it simply wasn't there. The skill-trees have no real custom playstyle options anymore, furthering the sense that entire game feels dumbed down, along with 'team shooting' and primary emphasis punishing skilled solo players, and rewarding predictability/ mediocrity. It was beautiful, but I simply didn't feel excited by the experience at any point. I truly wish I could say otherwise, because I even have a PSN credit equal to the game and season pass... but that is going to continue sitting there until further notice. I'm not jumping on a title simply because I liked a previous installment ever again. The dumpster fire that is SFV saw to that, and the current state of D2 is similarly a shadow of it's former self. *The former ironically being why I have said credit to begin with.
