From what we've been shown, it seems like a version of the series that's been casualized for the sake of mass appeal, which is very dangerous for a series like MH. Keep in mind that this is Capcom we're dealing with. They've left MH alone for a while, and let it grow organically, but we've seen them try to force a franchise to be something it's not before, and it didn't go well. Some of the revealed gameplay mechanics raise eyebrows as well, such as a ring of light informing you who the monster will attack next. The biggest thing to me, though, is that MHW seems devoid of the series' quirky personality. Removing a series' identity is [i]never[/i] a good idea. What if the next Doom game was philosophical and introspective instead of throwing caution to the wind? What if Mortal Kombat decided to remove all of the gore? That's what I feel like they're doing to MH here, and I'm not happy.
