I never pre-ordered a game after more than 15 years of gaming.
I buy it a week or two after release of it actually turns out to be good, but I never ever ever pre-ordered anything.
Not even Dark Souls 3.
Because if no-one pre-ordered companies would have to have a really good and COMPLETE game on release and rely on reviews etc to convince people to buy there games but when everyone pre-orders the companies already have your money and can hold back content and sell it to you later...
So like I said... DON'T PRE-ORDER 😉

Can't believe I'm fanning this ridiculous flame, but...
1. Pre-orders can be cancelled. If a company decided to cut content and hold back on a game because of money that can be taken back, they'd be disastrously foolish.
2. Game releases are very premeditated, methodical events. An act as tenuous as cutting content because a high number of pre-orders (refer to point 1) in the narrow margin of time between pre-order availability and full release is, again, disastrously foolish.
3. If a company is considering cutting content it's because it's unfinished or otherwise unplayable. The notion of a developer cutting completed content to sell for more later, because of pre-orders at that, is laughably immature. DLC and expansions are planned way ahead of time. If anything developers simply have a lot of near complete work saved by vanilla release, to be completed for future release.
4. If a company ever did cut complete content, regardless of pre-orders, to the point that the game is lacking the feel of a full game upon release, AND if the company did nothing to compensate for it, they would see so much backlash for every step of the way that they could never sell a game again. So, not likely. The risk vs reward from a professional standpoint is just preposterous.
So, go ahead and pre-order for that sweet loot people.
No, I didn't. I just shattered the hilariously conspiracy theorist idea that completed content gets cut because of pre-orders. Woosh I guess.
I only pre-order a game if I know I want it. It's just more convenient.
