IGN user Ranondra asks: Will our characters remain mute through the sequel? Destiny 2 Project Director Luke Smith: Yep. -- IGN user lxl_Linc_lxl asks: Are there any multi passenger vehicles? Luke Smith: Nope.
He truly doesn't get how much crap like this makes it seem like he's a butthole. He could have said "Yes, and here's why..." or "No, and here's why..." He's just tone deaf on this kind of thing.

  • He answered the questions. There was no need to go into detail about it. The forums are jist a bunch of whiney babies that hear the name Luke smith and starts complaining for no reason

  • Luke is an honest individual and doesn't dance around the questions like Deej. He has nothing more to say so no point in point less filler conversation.

Obviously the questions were "Cherry Picked". The bulk of the questions they answered were worthless. I wish studios wouldn't bother with Q/As unless they actually plan to answer stuff.

  • Luke Smith is Bungie's worst PR rep. I don't know why the company has him answer questions like this.

  • Probably because he's a game designer not pr guy. Did an intern think that would be a good idea?

  • He answered... "nope"... pretty damn clear to me.

  • But don't you want to know why? They voiced the guardians in vanilla, and they stopped after that and never gave an explanation.

  • The IGN guy should've asked "why" then. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer. Blame IGN, not Luke Smith.

  • You know this interview had agreed upon questions, so it's still Bungie's fault. They shouldn't have to ask why, Bungie should explain anyways because it's something that people want an answer to

  • I don't know. I prefer a mute character. Let's me give them my own voice. I don't want a voice forced on my Guardian.

  • So they could cut costs? They should've cut Nolanbot. Let Luke Smith voice the ghost.

  • So now Luke Smith is an asshole for saying "yep" & "nope". Forum sensitivity knows no bounds.

Interviewers fault really. Asking 'closed' questions. Why do our characters not have a voice in the sequel? What vehicles are we likey to find in Destiny 2? These are examples of 'open' questions. Edit: It's fairly obvious this 'interview' was scripted and agreed upon. No real questions, closed or open, were ever asked or answered.

  • Just pointing it out, we couldn't ask why our character doesn't have a voice until we knew that our character doesn't have a voice, which was confirmed in this interview.

  • The questions were "yes-or-no". Sometimes, there isn't a concrete reason for these things besides "it's just not something we decided to include". That isn't to say that more detailed answer wouldn't be nice, but just that sometimes we spend too much time looking for reasons that don't exist.
