I see where you're coming from. but I can't really agree (mainly because I feel like D2 is what D1 should have been if we're going for a casual experience instead of what I wanted...a more in depth rpg experience.)
I can't agree to it being an alternative to D2. Warframes pvp is forgettable. PoE is only one area and it's starting small both in scale and probably content because they don't want to bite off more than they can chew. and warframe is incredibly harsh for a new player.
D2 might not be exactly what the destiny fans were clammering for. But at least it's easy to pick up and understand. and you're not really set back at all if you don't play destiny for a week or more. I can see it as maybe something that hardcore players might be into. But that's not a really huge group.

I wouldn't call 3km by 3km by 3km small, considering that that area, when put up against Skyrim's map would stretch from Riften to Falkreath, from Falkreath to Winter hold and be as tall as High Hrothgar. On top of that, they're adding plenty of new things on top of the things already available, like Melee weapon crafting (as simplistic as it is) to Fishing, fully enabled Archwing flight, quests and 'more'. That aside, Destiny 2's beta is out, and since last the the beta was actually early access and Bungie has quite obviously learned nothing about how feedback works in their time with Destiny, it's safe to say that a lot of people are going to learn the meaning of 'Fool me twice, shame on me.' As for the PVP, The conclave is literally for sweaties. Nobody, and I mean almost literally no one, plays conclave outside of Lunaro because there's nothing to gain from it. Anything you win inside of the Conclave can only be used in the conclave. (Which is honestly a good thing, it means PvP and the game's focus on PVE aren't dependant on each other like in Destiny.) Only point that I can't contend is the difficulty for newbies. Only thing to be said there is that people only need to be social. Warframe has an incredible community, on PC anyway, that are more than just a little bit willing to help new players out with missions or grinding gear. Just have to find the right people.

well yeah..it's not small like you know. super small. But the devs themselves stated they decided to start small map size wise for that reason. And to put it accurately it's as big as fall out 4's world. Yeah there going to add more. I'm just saying. It's a small amount compared to where they want to go with it eventually. Right now and at launch you won't be able to make say dual daggers with the melee crafting. but it's something we'll get to do eventually. I played the beta. I found it to be fantastic for the most part. I believe they are trying to address both pve and pvp complaints with the changes. My point was and still is warframes pvp wasn't even there to begin with. and it's never been a huge focus. For people who enjoy pvp warframe simply isn't the game for them. I aid new players all the time. been helping a friend of mine progress. Just got him through the war within. Regardless it's still a daunting thing to get into. and even with help your power progression as a player will be slow. unless the helpers give you staple mods off the bat (like corrupt mods.)

You're entirely right in those regards. As for all the things they want to add, that's the main focus of this whole post. DE doesn't really do poor updates. They might have buggy drops, but that has to be expected in a game with so much going on in it. They've always been on top of fixing things as well (An example being that when the Opticor was busted they dropped around 5 patches for it in the space of two weeks.). So hearing that they plan to open the game up and potentially change the whole game has me excited. I mean. For all the things DE has done, right or wrong, they never gave up their dream. Warframe literally has it's roots in a failed game design from 2004. The original darkSector trailer has Grineer, the Liset, Aklato, Excalibur and the Solar Rails in it. That says that Warframe's been something they wanted to make for 13 years and that's dedication. If they can keep a dream alive from 13 years ago, they can change Warframe in this new direction for sure.

Yeah i'm really excited. I have been around since the abilities were mods we had to equip. it's been pretty amazing seeing how far they've come and how they still plan on taking it even farther. DE is probably most favored development company at the moment.
