Every time i open game and select character i go to orbit then it kicks me back to the character select screen and when i load back into orbit i am at 0 light and lvl and cant do anything tried resetting my game several times and my xbox as well nothing seams to fix this

Have you tried deleting the character and make a new one? If so then that's a pretty huge bug, try to get a video capture of it as well if you're able, I'll see if I can get this to happen as well

I had this happen as well on XBox, don't have a video, but I do have a screenshot of no ship, light level 0, level 0. Resetting the game twice fixed the issue. You can delete characters from the character select screen by holding X while hovered over the character you wish to delete, if you didn't have that option then that is also a bug
