It feels so slow and I don't feel like we move anywhere close to as smooth as destiny1.
Edit # 1-
Damn I check my phone on break and 63 responses lol.
Edit # 2-
Guns recoil is off too. I feel like recoil is up and to the left and up and to the right sometimes on the same gun. It makes it hard to be consistent and lower with damage on guns makes it even tougher to consistently kill and get into a rhythm.
Hit detection (NOT LAG) is off as well. Most of the time my bullets won't even register until enemy is dead. If it does register, it registers after I shoot a couple more bullets. This is really annoying.
I like a lot of changes but these are 2 huge things I hate BIGTIME. It kind of feels like I'm playing on a PlayStation 2.
Edit # 3- WOW some great responses! IM glad others see how off these things are!
Edit # 4- Pretty much, I feel like we took so many steps forward but took 2 huge steps backwards with movement changes and overall crispy and responsive feel of guns recoil and hit detection.
Edit # 5- Great responses! Sometimes its hard to put into words how the movement, Weapon hit detection and recoil seem off.
I'm glad that other people agree and feel the same way. 225 upvotes and I made this post a couple days ago.
This is what a beta is for! Give your input and opinion and hopefully the devs see why we don't like or like things. The thing is....hopefully they fix it and not just see it.
The sandbox team is really stubborn I noticed and they don't really listen to feedback. If they do listen it's never really fixed. Kinda like the .04 % auto rifle buff that one time. I Hope the sandbox team learned from their mistakes in destiny 1.
Tons of great changes! But movement and hit detection n recoil direction (not lag) are my biggest issues by far!
Edit # 6- This is a thread from Riasimov on hit detection you can also look at! He sums up exactly how I feel.

DONT FORGET TO UPVOTE IF U AGREE!
Edit # 7- BUNGIE COULD YOU ANSWER WHY MOVEMENT IS OFF OR WHY IT WAS CHANGED? (Typed in caps so you might see this...not yelling, just curious)
Player Movement, weapon recoil, hit detection, and overall feel of weapons (gunplay) was so amazing in Destiny 1 (except for bloom on handcannons). Movement was so responsive and guns shot so crisp. I loved that. What the hell happened? Still enjoy D2, I love most changes but I guess I will have to get use to a totally different feel of guns and awkward movement. Pretty much a totally different game....not a sequel.
Edit # 8-
Forbes Article that is spot on...

Edit # 9- Feel free to check out/subscribe to my YouTube. I started making pvp montages this year. Montages I make are just from a 1 or 2 days worth of games and I pull my best clips. So it's not like months n months of games, but I get some nice clips.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm-bF7Ug_hZHzthVO8NYn1Q
I also made 2 Saladin's Vigil Montages, those are my favorite vids.

Just a last look at some destiny 1 gameplay.
I'm going to make lots more vids with destiny 2. I'm gonna start making vids with weapons I like for pvp and helpful tips I can share.
I hope devs really listen to us and make smart changes b4 destiny 2 drops.
Thanks everyone for your input on this topic. I'm really passionate about destiny and love the game. That's why I made this thread. Hope I enjoy D2....beta definitely made me worried about D2 instead of hyped. I'm still hyped but kind of in shock that bungie changed with a few things that were perfect.
Sorry for the long rant...I tend to do that.
Edit # 10- Over 300 likes! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that hates the new movement. Movement is such a huge part of pvp.

I agree

1 ReplyAgree completely!
-
94 RepliesWhat I completely do not understand is why they would even touch movement. I don't remember seeing not one person on any ANY site anywhere make one complaint about the movement in D1. There was ZERO reason to even waste time thinking about changing it. It was damn near perfect. A classic case of fixing something that was not broke.

1 ReplyIt's trash, hoping this is the end of destiny.
-
1 Replyplaying as a hunter i didnt feel slow at all But using the warlock... Jesus.... what happened?
-
15 RepliesEdited by BarretOblivion: 7/22/2017 3:03:56 AMHunters got gimped too hard because of the mobility changes. Hunters are designed to be mobile as its their inherint strenght, so why does it mean nothing now? All we have is a horrible "dodge" that has such a long cool down that honestly it should have immunity frames to give the class something. The space we dodge isn't enough for it to be anywhere near as good as the Titan's barricade or the Warlocks aoe support.

2 RepliesThey turned it into a no skill Team shooting simulator cover shooter. Slowed everything down to giver lesser players a chance. They even nerfed the scoring to make people feel better, when nothing has changed. Don't even need crutches any more, just get your team of four and run around team shooting for the win. With all the time they had for D2, they some how made pvp and pve worse.

5 RepliesI feel like my player is moving thru mud. Very slow and unresponsive. Even the Sprint is not a sprint. Player goes into sprint animation but there is marginal increase in speed that is hardly noticeable. And when you do sprint, turning is slow. All agility and nimble movement has been removed.
-
Titan feels fine to me Warlock jumps are bad! Haven't played hunter yet.
-
Edited by ceegronlee: 7/22/2017 7:22:36 PMIt doesn't feel as good as D1. There's been a ton of good community feedback, hopefully Bungie takes it all into consideration and changes some things before launch.

13 RepliesI said this on another post but... #MakeTitansSkateAgain
-
1 ReplyWorst movement is arcstrider. No target lock, no maneuvering toward enemies. It actually avoids enemies. You have to fight against it to get it to go your way. It needs to incorporate some of bladedancers swing movements .

1 ReplyNope I liked the pace and the weapon system and the lack of ability spam. Only issue for me is faster supers please and more power ammo in pve.
-
I don't hate it but I don't love it. Although I think its something I can get used to
-
Playing a Titan feels like having a nightmare where you're running full out but just staying in place.
-
It's disgustingly clunky. I've never seen such a downgrade in my life... the titans and warlocks movement is worse than a Titan from Titanfalls. That's saying much considering it's a -blam!-ing 20 foot robot that weights at least ten tonnes
-
I feel the same. Especially the Titan, the Titan skate feature is heavily missed by myself and everyone in my squad.
-
Not at all. In fact it feels a little bit better to me. It may be totally subjective too, since I play on default sensitivity. What feels smooth to me, might feel slow and awkward to somebody that usally plays at something higher.

2 RepliesEdited by bruins--hockey: 7/22/2017 12:37:48 PMWell we DID just get our light taken away, so this just MAY have something to do with it....... ~bruins--hockey

2 RepliesIt took me a few games to get used to it. I have played Titanfall 2, WarFrame and LawBreakers exclusively. But I really like the movement in D2
-
1 ReplyI quit playing destiny 1 around the taken king but I noticed during the beta for destiny 2 it felt a little bit clunky and felt as if I was moving slightly slower and it feel as smooth as the first one could just be me though
-
4 RepliesI don't have a problem with either of these things. I like the movement. Recoil patterns are fine to me. It's a new game that requires new skills.

5 RepliesEdited by ClovenTrack620: 7/22/2017 2:18:39 PMall warlock jumps except for blink are total garbage

3 RepliesI would have agreed with you but I played as the warlock and noticed how smooth movement felt. The other classes feel horrible but for whatever reason the warlock feels great. Like wtc.
