I would say definitely, but we can't play multiplayer together. :(

What's the mp like, is it hero, class or straight up shooter.

Class, you get a few unique abilities per character, and some of the rarer characters you have to unlock. Weapons can be used universally by everyone, but some classes clearly favor one over the other.
