Lot of people forcing it with the opinions.. Andromeda was a pretty good game. I still don't get people who bitch about facial animations and related shit.
We live in a time where companies don't just release games and leave them as they are. Have any of you salty people ever heard the term "patch"? I mean really.
I also see a lot of "subpar writing" comments but these are never accompanied with examples of said subpar writing. It's almost like people aren't formulating their own opinions.. what else is new?
Andromeda took the clunk out, took the focus on Shepard out, and basically made the game series what it was trying to focus on since it's inception; the struggle of the inhabitants of the Milky Way against impossible odds.
Now we are away from Shepard and the Reapers, now we have fresh perspective and a much more team focused story. It isn't just Ryder and his squad, it is all the Pathfinders and the Initiative.

[/quote] As one of my favorite TV pop psychologists likes to say about marital conflict, "There is the **topic**, and then there is the ***issue**...." The point is that the TOPIC is what the couple spends their energy fighting over....but the ***issue*** is the thing that's really the problem. People will often focus on the "topic" because they are unaware of the larger issue that's bothering them....or its easier and more comfortable to do so than the real issue. The animations are the ***topic***. The ISSUE is that the community wanted Mass Effect: 4....and Bioware gave them Mass Effect: Andromeda. The community didn't want a good game. They wanted a game that was going to make them FEEL the same way they felt playing the original trilogy...and that is (unfortunately) an unrealistic expectation. You can't step into the same river twice. So when this new game didn't FEEL the same way to play.....making a big issue out of its minor graphical problems was a convenient scapegoat to pile their "disappointement" and anger upon. Its the same thing that happens to the Star Wars prequels. Objectively, Episodes 1-3 are BETTER movies than 4-6. They are better made. Better directed...and tell a far more complex and interesting story, than the original trilogy. Which---despite the fact that I love them---are pretty simple fairy tales/morality plays. Whereas the prequels are this complex tragedy of how a good--but-flawed man falls to evil because of his own flawed character and the failure of the society around him....and how a democracy gave away its freedom trying to buy prosperity and security...and becomes a totalitarian state. But people always want to pick on minor flaws with characters (like JarJar) or areas of poor dialogue (like the romantic scenes between Padme and Anakin). Not realizing that the original films had ALL the same problems.....and had them that much worse. Lucas was always terrible at writing dialogue..and had actually gotten BETTER over time. There are lines in Return of the Jedi that I absolutely CRINGE when I hear. But people ignore it because the films have becomes such icons by now. Imo, this is why Lucas basically stopped making films after Revenge of the Sith. He realized that his early movies had become so much Larger than Life, that he was no longer free to make the movies he wanted any more. He instead wsa confronted with a public that was going to ruthlessly demand that he make the movies THEY expected...and were going to beat him mercilessly if he didnt'..... ...and already being wealthy beyond any and all need....Lucas basically said "-blam!- this" and retired.
