I mean, the player population in D1 is going to drop significantly when D2 is released. If they're sustaining much less people, then surely they'd be able to handle something like this.

I'm thinking that when Trials or IB are active they might reserve a portion of their servers to host those activities specifically. Instead of tuning it down after D1, they're just turning it off.

Can you imagine the queue time for an Iron Banner match with a significantly lower player base?

Well, they took the Destiny servers down for a day to do maintainance for Destiny 2. I'm willing to bet it's the same hardware.

Think theres a cozmo post on here saying as much? Sounds like the beta atleast will be on the D1 servers.
