Have you watched Sword Art Online? There are mixed opinions about it, but this story really rminds me of it.

I have, however when I wrote this the 2 ideas I was taking from the most were Destiny and Log Horizon, not SAO.

After that with the removal of dying it's eh, "oh no, we'll fail this quest" I don't see lfg randoms getting panicked like that after wiping for hours lol Wish they'd had each of the 100 boss fights. That would have been cool and if someone could have taken those things and merged it with destiny raid types to make a massive Sao game witch each boss I'd have thrown money at them

It was pretty subpar. They really wasted a lot of potential they could have had. Overall, it was just meh.
