I could be wrong but I heard a lot of folks weren't happy with the micro transaction system currently in place. I loved the first one. You pretty much bought it and played it and everything unlocked like it should at a normal pace. Supposedly there is a steep enough grind in the second to push you towards paying. I just never tried it for those reasons. I believe it was free to play but you didn't have access to much of the content without paying.
I wouldn't mind confirmation or dismissal of this info just in case I'm missing out on a gem on Xbox.

Yeah the micro transactions are a lot worse than I was expecting... But tbf the base game is free so I guess it makes some sense. I believe you can unlock all the characters and important stuff without spending a dime on MTs but it might take a while longer. I'd try it out though anyway if I were you, just because it's free.

Sure thing. And I don't mind putting money into a free game if I really like it. Warframe is a good example of a free game I dumped a lot of money into but I feel like it's grown so much from when it first started. If that Dungeon Defenders is as engaging I won't mind at all I expect. Just heard the grind was exceptionally higher than most and characters normally included needed to be purchased. This Is hearsay but I will check it out.
