The world is changing and I wonder if Bungie is avoiding a ranked playlist to conform to today's so called standards. Younger generations are being coddled and some adults in their infinite wisdom have come to the conclusion that too much competition is harmful to children and causes stress.
An example of this is schools are slowly getting rid of the valedictorian in high school graduations. Some schools are telling kids their GPA but are telling them not to share them. Some schools are having more than one valedictorian in some cases even 25 and some schools have scrapped this practice all together. All in the name of creating better self esteem and self worth and reducing stress. It's kinda crazy to me.

Yup. If I was told just how much GPA would count for me in middle school, maybe I actually would of given enough of a damn to try to get good grades, to get in good classes for high school, and get good grades there, to get more scholarships for college. So that I wouldn't have to take out a 15k loan to be able to get my bachelors degree. But that's the problem with being an angsty pre-teen. Zero foresightedness.
