It's hilarious how this suddenly proves how the left is violent but if it was a rightwing shooter he'd be considered mentally ill.

It's just more paper on the pile. We've known the Left was extremely violent for months now by riots of destruction and injury. This guy's just upped the ante. There's already apologists saying he had the right idea and went about it the wrong way, and still making the same tired arguments that the ends justify the means.
