This decision has nothing to do with PS4 Pro... Bungie has said in the past that they wouldn't support mid-generation console upgrades since it gives players who are playing on the same service an advantage. How would it be fair for someone playing on a day 1 Xbox One running at 30fps at 1080p to get thrown in a match with someone playing 60fps at 4K on the Xbox One X? This is why mid-generation updates are a bs concept; Microsoft and Sony don't want to split to their user base so the end result is that multiplayer games will be kept on the low end of the spectrum to insure balance.

That exact thing is going to happen on pc, probably all 8 players in a game will be playing on a different frame rate. And do you know what, no-one complains about it, why should I hold others back because I have a weaker system. It seems odd they want parity when some are using mice and scuf controllers.

  • PC is different because players have a choice in their frame rates; if you decide to max out the settings and can't hit 60fps that's your fault not Bungie's. Console players do not have a choice though, an Xb1 player will not be able to play at a lower resolution in order to get an even frame rate, this would mean that no matter what they do they are at a disadvantage. I really don't understand how people don't see this as a problem...

  • I personally, believe that is how it should be. Life is not fair, and you do what you can with what you can. If I had an xbox one running at 30 fps and wanted to play with the big boys club at 60 fps.. I would upgrade to the xbox one x to play 60fps. Yeah, that means I would have to buy another system but that is my choice. As it is also my choice to decide to no longer participate in a game where I am being limited. However, that argument would have a stronger base if they limited the PC players to 30 fps. So as it is, you will have some PC players who can't play 60fps against those who can. So no, it is not Bungies fault that Sony decided that they did not desire to benefit their players, and give them a system that could support the 4K @60fps. But it was Bungie who made it clear last year that they were not going to support outdated systems. THAT was Bungies decision then and it should be the decision to back up what they said then.

  • This isn't life, it is a video game, and your opinion means absolutely nothing. Just because you think you should get an advantage over other people because you are buying a new console doesn't mean you should... If Microsoft or Sony made the decision to let players who upgrade get stealth advantages in multiplayer games it would be split their communities and cause massive backlash, and neither company can afford that. As for PC players, if your computer has the minimum specs to play the game that game will run at 60fps no matter what your build; it might not run at max settings or resolution but it will run at 60fps unless the developer chooses to lock it at 30. The only reason other players will have for getting a frame rate advantage over you is your own decision to chose resolution and graphical quality over performance. This is a choice PC players have always had, and it's a choice console players never will have.
