The beta will open on friday july 7 officially known as bungie day closed beta for preorder and open beta for the naysayers open should be two weeks before launch if i am wrong oh well they will tell us at e3 so until then do not get your panties in a bind and wait like good little snowflakes your time will come

The usual way most betas work is that they do a closed beta which is basically a finished version of the game then monitor the servers for problems . after the closed they fix the issues . the open beta is a teaser for people who have not made a decision to buy the game it also is a finished version so people can try before they buy. On alpha they take feedback on what works and what doesnt .

yeah that kind of defeats the whole purpose of a beta.

Alpha is for fixes , tweeks, changes and additions. beta is for server monotoring and for a teaser to those on the fence about purchasing the game
