In this video I talk about how we might need PS5 & Xbox Scorpio 2 to run open-world games at 60fps, because Project Scorpio & PS4 Pro can't do it!
Is 60fps make or break for you?
Please, enjoy the video! (:

  • Depends. A game that looks good can run at 30fps and I don't mind. Breath of the Wild, Destiny, and Uncharted 4 are good examples of that. As long as whatever framerate they have stays locked most of the time, it's good. What the framerate is (30, 60, 120...), I couldn't care less.

  • Frame rate. I'd rather play a smooth game that looks average than a pretty game that lags.

  • The Scorpio can run 60FPS at 4k resolution. I'm pretty sure it could rub open world games at at least 60FPS on 1080p.

    • In mainly single player games it definitely won't break my experience if it isn't 60, but it would be very nice to have and be a big plus. In competitive multiplayer shooters, it's mind boggling why it's not a standard.

    • Depends on the type of game. In single player games I can go for 30fps. In competitive shooters and etc 60fps is near mandatory.

    • Resolution. Frame rate only matters for fps games and even then only when it's a competitive match.

    • Frametime is most important.

    • Frame rate takes priority in really competitive games, especially if they are fast paced like overwatch and titanfall. That being said, I would prefer it if all my games ran at 60fps and 1080p.

    • I can almost guarantee that anyone that said fps did not care at all about it until they heard d2 was not 60.

      • Resolution I can't tell the difference in 30 and 60 fps and frankly don't really care

        • Really depends on the type of game. For a shooter I prefer higher, at least 60, fps. For an adventure game or rpg, I'll take higher fidelity graphics any day, doesn't have to be limited to resolution either, nice graphics are usually better than high resolution depending on the screen size and distance from it. A PC with 24" monitor doesn't really need over 1080p, but a console with 4k 65" TV is glorious. Frankly though, I'll take 3d vision stereoscopic any day over any of those things. 3d is amazing and way better than anything I've seen a higher resolution offer.
