Hand cannons are in a terrible place right now. I tried using Hawkmoon after the last update. Didn't go well. I'm back to mida/hardlight depending on the map.

The main problem is the insane range difference between archetypes. While high impact HC can archive this ranges, Pali/Luna archetypes can kill at 2 (with Lic) or 3 taps too at the same range but with better RoF, so obviusly this archetype is out of the equation. In the other hand, high Rof HC can't archive that insane range and need 3 (with Lic) or 4 taps to kill at their optimal range but well, possibly you need to place your shoots to hits your enemies due to RNG factor. Again this archetype is out of the equation. Then we have small maps where people can kill you in 3 taps with their Pali/Luna from side to side and that's why many people use them. But well, people is not the problem here, it's Bungie with their non sense of balance. You only need to see how they play at their own game and you will notice why balance is broken.

Exotic handcannons suck. Pali and Luna are top tier
-
Okay, but that's two out of scores upon scores. Hand cannons in general are flat out bad, though there are some outliers.
-
Dont listen to Doby. He is bad with hand cannons anyway.

HCs are the most used weapon in PvP. Palindrome and Eyasluna made up for 25% of kills in trials before stats went down. The next most used primary was Mida. Those were the only 3 primary weapons in the top 10

It's kind in a situation that Shotguns are in. They're still viable compared to other weapons. But they only have 1 good archetype
-
Well other hand cannons are not in a good place. Just saying.

Edited by SmashvilleViking: 5/28/2017 7:23:45 PMIt's always been like that. Same could be said for any weapon. Some scouts are better than others. Same for PR, AR, hell, even sidearms

Not all pulse, scout, or auto rifles are in a good place
-
As someone who uses hand cannons above any other weapon. I've never been able to use the Hawkmoon efficiently. Not sure what it is about it but I cannot land precision hits like other HCs.
-
It misses. A lot.

There is nothing more fun than to use the hardlight on Drifter.

Damn you. Damn you to hell!
your laughter echoes in my nightmares
Edited by SmashvilleViking: 5/28/2017 7:14:31 PMHard Light is hands down, the most underrated weapon in the game
-
It's a great gun, most people just ignore it since it's an auto rifle.

I love autos and theres nothing else that looks like the hardlight or is equivalent to it. I really hope we get something similar to it in D2.
