To this I will say three things: 1. Right now there is really zero reason to change anything in your subclass on any class. There's no reason to run high agility. No reason to decrease your armor rating. There's just no reason. So they have given us 2 options which are preset and that makes sense to me. 2. I'm kinda disappointed that we don't see some type of actual new subclass in D2. Really don't know why we still have existing subclasses in a completely new sequel. I shook my head at that. 3. I forgot what I was going to say here.

  • In regards to point 2 They brought back the originals. For the original 2nd subclass (aka, void for Titan, arc for hunter, and solar for warlock) they replaced with those golden age weapon supers. My bet is that the final subclasses will be completely new, non-weapon type supers.

  • Changing every subclass would contradict lore. Guardians have only ever known of 9 subclasses not counting the new 3. You cant just change a major fact in a game rich with lore (even if it wasnt all that obvious) it would just contradict it.

You won't even notice your health difference but you will notice that you can make all those jumps faster and easier (especially for a Warlock) during raids or racing through strikes. I dare say, there's no reason to run max armor in PvE at all. Unless you're a Titan, in which case, it doesn't matter if you don't need height.
2.
Because it's a sequel and a lot of sequels do this. This isn't a new type of game. It's the same type as D1, just further along the story with tweaks to where they need tweaks. It would make no sense as to why we lost all our subclasses and magically had new ones. Or, at the very least, they would have to explain why. It's also not that far in the future to the first game... unlike a lot of sequels, where it's usually massive jumps into the future or past. It's supposed to be pretty dang close to D1. That's why it looks very similar. It's supposed to look familiar, just better, which it has.

Or maybe just put a little bit of effort to make more builds more viable? Just a little bit?

  • I like destiny's fast action mobility. The D2 pvp and pve gameplay that I've seen looks like that mobility went down significantly.
