Wow, very misleading video title and post. That's not at all what Ms is doing. They are just letting developersdo what they want with the hardware, sorta like on PC. This is definitely a good thing. It will still be the same games and you can get the same game for whichever console you want and it will still work.
This is like saying PC users are forced to buy new video cards every year.

How is it misleading? If you are a multiplayer gamer people on Project Scorpio could have higher frame rates than you rendering you at a disadvantage. So, you're forced to upgrade if you don't want to be at a disadvantage (:
