What Crota's End taught me?
I'd rather have ONE really good raid every 6 months to a year.....
...than a raid every three months that's a buggy, glitch-ridden mess that you can cheese your way through most of.
More, isn't always better. Sometimes its just more...problems.

Wrath of the Machine was a well-designed, fun play experience. Crota's end was a bug-ridden, exploit-ridden mess. Its called time to POLISH the content. As opposed to rushing it out the door before its ready to meet a schedule.
As opposed to rushing it out the door before its ready to meet a schedule.
Oh! You mean like how it took 6+ years to make vanilla with 2 expansion and D2 is a 2 year pushed out product to meet their deadline? Got it!

Smh. How long did it take you to make YOUR successful AAA game? The only job in the world that it takes almost no talent or effort to do? Being a critic.

Edited by TheArtist: 5/21/2017 8:53:28 PMAll I'm hearing is an opinion being delivered by someone who seems to think that the only limits that game developers face is what HE himself can imagine. ...and that creating this stuff is hardly more difficult than the imagining..... Which is why being a critic takes so little talent. You dont' really have to know anything...and you aren't required to keep your criticisms reasonable or fair. In fact sometimes people WANT their critics to be unreasonable and unfair. Gives them an outlet.
-
I appreciate your opinion. As I've said before, I suppose I was just expecting a little more. Yes, I know it was their first reveal... but there wasn't a "wow" moment for me.
-
But were your expectations reasonable or fair?
-
You're right we should have waaaaaaaaaay lower expectations for Bungie 👎🏻
-
This isn't about Bungie.
-
No it is, cause they can only lower the bar so many times 👎🏻

Edited by TheArtist: 5/22/2017 6:40:12 AMIts not about Bungie. Chastice understood that. My "disappointment" when I saw The Empire Strikes Back for the first time back in 1981 wasn't about George Lucas or that movie. Its that I walked into the theater as a hyped-into-the-atmosphere 13 year old, with expectations for the experience that were impossible to meet. Asking Lucas to recreate MY FEELINGS about what would turn out to be one of the biggest entertainment and cultural phenomenons of my lifetime.....and recreate MY FEELINGS about a movie that completely redefined how society saw science fiction movies and how they were made...... ....Star Wars. Those expectations weren't met....and I was "disappointed". Even though I had just seen what was arguably one of the best movies Lucas would make in his career. Fortunately----even at 13----I realized that my expectations had been the problem....not the movie. So I got over it pretty quickly.

No, there are plenty of other games out there that were able to meet or exceed expectations, too bad Destiny will never be one of em👎🏻
-
..and if its important for you to feel like you've been victimized, I suggest you go play them. As my dad used to say, "Never complain and then stay."
-
I don't care, if you want to waste your money on a game that can't even meet industry standards, I'm sure D2 will be the best game ever, just like D1 was supposed to be LOL😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
-
As long as I'm having fun, then it's hardly a waste of my money now is it?
-
Ok, I'll be the first one there saying "I told you so" when all your complaints start rolling in😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
-
You probably shouldn't hold your breath waiting on this one.
-
Ok, guess the game will be perfect when it comes out LOL😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I guess that I expected something to grab me. The first Destiny was an emotional rollercoaster for me. I loved it, hated it, made peace with it, broke peace with it, kinda liked it, put it down for several months, came back, was mildly impressed with RoI, got sick of grinding, left, came back, completed my AoT... then wanted to be pulled back in by the sequel. Maybe I'm merely displacing my disappointment?

Edited by TheArtist: 5/21/2017 7:13:57 PMOr merely mistaking a "lack of drama" for "boredom". They aren't the same. Your post describes the kind of relationship that so turbulent that its the stuff of Lifetime Channel movies. If I were actually in a relationship like that with a woman (I'm guy), I'd be looking for the escape hatch so fast I'd leave tire tracks. But some people WANT that kind of turmoil...and get "restless and bored" without it. One of the best relationships I ever had, was just the opposite. It was so comfortable it was like breathing. Instead of this dramatic emotional roller coaster, it was like settling into hot bath that just the perfect temperature after a long, stressful day. Just this overwhelming sense of "Ah, that's perfect." We almost never fought. We treated one another with respect...and on the rare occasions we disagreed, we sat down, heard each other out....and walked away feeling good about each other. Ultimately, the lack of drama was part of the reason why she walked. But she was at least self-aware enough to acknowledge that she was wrestling with her own demons that had nothing to do with me. Same analogy applies here. When I saw the trailer, I didn't see anything that was "dramatic" or "mind-blowing".....but then I didn't show up expecting to see any of that. What I came looking for was evidence of whether Bungie had really learned from the problems of the first game, what were they doing to address those problems....and was I seeing a game starting to reach its full potential. To become the game I had wanted it to be back on Launch Day. That fullblown, MMO-RPG/FPS hybrid. ...and I saw that....and then some. So my reaction wasn't "Ho Hum"....but a comfortably satisfied. "Yeah.....that's what I'm talking about."

Yours is a very tempered response. I'll just turn down the emotion and wait.
