Destiny 2 Quick Notes Info Dump (Closed)
Okay here we go!
First bit of info from Zavala voice actor
Zavala will be involved in the action & fighting for his survival
Destiny 2 will be a new beginning for everyone
The vision for D2: A world that pulls you in, amazing things to do, always someone to play with
Red War campaign seems to be huge
Titans can summon shields (Sentinal)
Hunters can summon spears (Arcstrider)
Warlocks can summon a sword (Dawnblade)
New "empowering rift" ability
Class Abilities: Can be used by each class regardless of your current subclass. They recharge faster than Supers, but slower than Grenade/Melee abilities.
Titan- Throw down an energy cover/wall
Warlocks- Throw down some kind of AoE ability. Not sure what it does, but it looks like it grants healing.
Hunter- Was not shown in the stream, but it's rumored to be Shadestep.
Minigun confirmed
Grenade launcher confirmed
Dubious Volley confirmed
Ghaul is here because he believes the Traveler should have chosen the Cabal. He feels the Traveler is owed to him.
Kinetic, Energy, & Power weapon slot. No more primary, secondary, & heavy slots. Offering more freedom for weapon choosing
Crucible is now 4v4 across all game modes
New HUD in crucible shows if enemies have super & picked up power ammo
New capture & defend mode called Countdown
Can launch all activities in the world without going to orbit
Public events have heroic objectives

At least it wasn't announced, which I've been saying would be a bad sign (meaning - likely not going to do it). Honestly, as expected, was sorely disappointed in the reveal. Nothing gave me the sense that the game was going to be as much fun as Y1 was. The new subclasses are all roaming supers, but all look kind of lame with the exception of the defender titan with the shield - that is something I've been asking for. Re-ordering of weapons sounds like a move they made for PVP purposes - Great! Now you can equip two primaries in PVP, and now sniper is a power weapon... Great.... But how well is that going to work in PVE? I'm all for the game becoming more RPG-ish, but it also sounds like on the PVP side that it is becoming even more HALO-ISH. And if PVE and PVP aren't separated, you can expect that to turn out exactly the same as it did in Y2/Y3. Consider me frustrated, disenchanted, and less than enthusiastic about the reveal. At least I can rest easy now and not feel so bad about not following the game so closely. For those who disagree with my statements about the reveal, it's all subjective and how you want to take it. For me, personally, I know what I want and from the reveal, doesn't look like we're going to get it. And that is all well and good. One great thing about capitalism is that there's always other competing products, and you will likely find me playing one of those instead of D2 come Fall of 2017. For those carrying on, I wish you much luck and hope you enjoy the game.

2 Repliesi watched the live stream and felt pretty hopeful for the direction that D2 is going in. that said, what i wanted to hear more about was our guardians; customizations, sparrow/ship battles, our new inventory/vault space. maybe this will come out closer to launch. this was a good event. looking forward to seeing you all out there in the new universe
