You get really good college credits for a lot of universities, and even if most private universities don't accept AP credits, they still look really good on college applications, as they reflect capability to handle a large workload. AP classes tend to provide a better education as well; they're a lot of work, but they provide in-depth learning and instruction that most normal classes don't.
