How do we know this is actually confirmed. People always jumping to conclusions, it could be something less relevant for all we know.

It's confirmed that these creatures are related to each class. But they're not subclasses. Go to the Speaker on each character and tell me what you see, you'll see a Snake Cloak, Lion/Linx Mark, and Raven bond. It just seems they're putting more details into our class specific armor.
