Bioware have been talking about a potential Mass Effect movie ever since 2010. If I remember correctly, Legendary Pictures ( the same guys behind the Warcraft movie ) have the rights to it. To be honest, I have very little confidence that this film will get made anytime soon considering how long it's been sitting on the shelf. I think it's doomed to the same fate as the Uncharted movie, the IP has tremendous cinematic potential, however Hollywood doesn't really know how to adapt the source material to the big screen, not without regurgitating the story from the games or completely changing everything to the point where it no longer resembles the source material.
