You're barking up to wrong tree here. The same people will in one breath tell you that they aren't "tryhards" and that the term makes no sense, while at the same time always picking the easiest weapons and abilities to kill with (aka METAS AKA MOST EFFECTIVE TOOL AVAILABLE).
So yeah you're gonna find some ironic af opinions here that are one sided af

Playing to win isn't ironic. Oddly enough, when I play basketball no one bitches that I'm a tryhard because I always wear my top-end shoes instead of just chilling and wearing flip-flops "because it's fun to be different." Same with golf: no one bitches about using a putter on the green instead of mixing it up and chilling with a sand wedge for the four-foot lie.
-
Using sports shoes for Basketball provides an inconsequential benefit and using the wrong club in golf gives you a handicap that would take an inhuman amount of skill to overcome. Neither one is analogous to using a better or worse weapon in Crucible.
-
Except the part where it's exactly analogous to whiners crying that it's somehow unfair to try to win.
-
Nothing unfair about trying to win, but a lot of mistakes in assuming that only trying to win makes you a better player than people who have fun using other gear.
-
You'll note that it's not the people who play to win who come here to bitch and moan. It's the people who claim they're just out for fun who whine about people who play to win, as if that's somehow bad.
-
I'm just noticing that you haven't played Crucible for nearly three months (according to Bungie and guardian.gg).................and you're trying to criticise my stance on PvP? Come back when you've actually played the current game.
-
That doesn't have anything to do with it. Whiners have been crying about "tryhards" for a year, and its always code being pissed you got beat. You're not critiquing the state of the game, you're upset people won't let you win.
