The First Curse is primarily a PVE weapon.
It does massive damage and has been largely spared from the reserve ammo problems and range problems that afflicted other hand cannons.
But it has always been a tricky, unforgiving weapon to use in PVP.

People keep saying it's meant for PvE, but why? The Last Word is touted as a mainly PvP gun, but used to be at least viable in PvE before the removal of the bonus damage (or so I've heard anyway...). It was unforgiving in Crucible, absolutely. However, its capability for both environments has been slashed for no other reason than PvP "balance". I have a few Hand Cannons with "PvE rolls", like my Imago Loop with Triple Tap/Rifled Barrel/Firefly. It was fantastic pre-nerf, but now I definitely notice a difference. Should I be okay with my PvE gun suffering because of PvP?
Should I be okay with my PvE gun suffering because of PvP?
No. But for some reason Bungie's Sandbox team REFUSES to grasp this basic concept. That (as one poster brilliantly put it) PVE and PVE are RADICALLY different "power fantasies"....and therefore the two halves of the game have INCOMPATIBLE needs. So insisting on forcing them to share one set of abilities, one set of gear and one common game tuning is unworkable. ...and your frustration at seeing your power in PVE diminished because of the needs of a part of the game you might not even play (or at least play regularly) is the avoidable end result.

I knew EXACTLY what kind of response you'd give when I posed the question. And you're spot on, of course. Thanks man, good to hear someone say it. We should definitely play together sometime though. We're friends on Destiny, but I haven't wanted to impose upon you...

We're already friends, LOL. I just haven't jumped into your fireteam yet, felt like I'd be imposing. Maybe I'm just overly cautious. Haha.

Don't jump in, because I'm a member of a clan and might be saving a spot for someone else.....or wanting to do something on my own at the moment. But don't hesitate to ask, and don't take it personally if I say "No thank you".

Of course. I totally get that.

Then don't hesitate to ask. Worst thing I'll do is say "Not right now...." :)

Sure thing. Would have said more in my prior comments, but I may or may not have been driving... Do you tend to prefer to play PvE, or PvP? Also, do you have a mic?
