I agree. For profit healthcare is wrong.
Healthcare shouldn't only be for those who can afford it, it should be for those that need it.
English
-
Good luck on medical innovation with that.
-
Why the ^%#* is it wrong?
-
Because people have a right to life.
-
You don't seem so keen on that right when it comes to abortion.
-
Abortion is irrelevant to the conversation but since you bring it up, are saying a one month old fetus has more of a right to life than a 30 year old with leukemia?
-
Nice way to cherry pick. Most abortions happen to perfectly healthy mothers.
-
That doesn't answer my question in the slightest.
-
If a fetus can't be born without the mother dying, then the mother must be put first. If the fetus can be born without the mother dying, then the fetus must be put first. It is as simple as that.
-
You still didn't answer my question.
-
They have an equal right to life.
-
So you are for universal healthcare?
-
Where did you get that from?
-
You believe that 30 year old with leukemia has a right to life. So what if he is poor or doesn't have insurance?
-
No ones trying to deny them life. But unlimited cost medical treatment? Not a right.
-
Where'd you get "unlimited cost" from?
-
Trying to convey the ridiculousness of offering high end medical to everyone just for being born.
-
If you have to exaggerate to make it sound ridiculous then maybe it's not actually ridiculous.
-
I didn't say exaggerate.
-
You didn't say It, but that's what you did. You have created a strawman; You are attacking universal healthcare on a feature that doesn't exist. There is nothing about it that necessitates unlimited expenditure. It would be far more effective to criticise the idea than a caricature of it.
-
At the time I couldn't think of any other way to express that thought. Distracted mind.
-
Eh, It happens.
-
Tell that to time, disease, bad genes, murderers, and accidents. We all have an expiration date. Some are just shorter than others.
I agree. For profit healthcare is wrong. Healthcare shouldn't only be for those who can afford it, it should be for those that need it.
Would you try and eliminate poverty by nationalizing agriculture, too?
-
I'm not seeing the comparison. How would nationalizing agriculture fix poverty?
-
I'm not seeing the comparison. How would nationalizing agriculture fix poverty?
It wouldn't. Why do we assume that nationalizing an industry is the most efficient way to provide that service to as many people as possible?
