Hmm funny how you mentioned IT as the darkness. Some others have interpreted IT as the traveler and the garden as a form of the darkness (ex: vex) good post btw. Kudos

  • He calls IT the Queen of Final Shapes and Titanomach, and the way he talks about it leaves no option besides the Darkness, especially because he says that IT defeated him, humanity, and the Traveler (gardener). He also says that IT is alone (like the Darkness) and that the gardener stood with humanity. Honestly nobody should make the mistake of interpreting it the other way around

  • Not attacking you or anything but we've seen the hostility and help that Rasputin has done for us, keeping him in the middle; thus we aren't entirely sure what he sees as good and what he sees as bad.

  • Reading the entirety of Mysteries instead of just the parts about IT, Rasputin says he is still seeking to defeat the Darkness and from his battle with IT believes he must be alone to do so This is why he does not help humanity, and why he is willing to kill trespassing humans if they threaten to ruin his plans

  • Rasputin also calls IT the Queen of Final shapes, so IT is unlikely to be the traveller. The gardener is likely to be the Traveller because she/it creates garden worlds, he also says she lost because she wouldn't abandon what she was protecting - something I doubt the Darkness would do.
