I actually liked sylens ending. He definetly was never out to help you, that was obvious. He was so obsessed with knowledge that he uses Aloy to get what he wanted. Hades. Remember the last spear you use, and the one that 'kills' Hades, actually belongs to Sylens, so I don't think Hades magically makes his way to Sylens, I think it's what Sylens had planned all along.
Edit:
I was under the impression that the Master Override worked like a giant On/Off switch for Hades as well...it's a little confusing tho since we didn't really destroy Hades. Im assuming that when we (well sylens) removed him from the Horus, it stopped the signal he was sending out to the machines, deactivating them. Only explanation I have. Also, GAIA is destroyed so there's no way you'd be geting to speak to her after the Hades fight.
It simply took back control of the spire systems from Hades. Remember Hades was taking control of the Spire Subsystem and using it to broadcast a signal to reactivate the Faro Peacekeepers that had been buried. Since it was an Override for GAIA's Systems, and Hades is part of GAIA but is currently being corrupted by the Faro Plague... locking down Hades also locked down the reactivated Faro Plague Peacekeepers.
•
This is exactly the same conclusion I came to. In his explanation of taking over and monitoring Focuses he says he built a backdoor into the system. He must have had a similar program in his spear that didn't kill but locked Hades away with the only way out being whatever his little cage lantern thing is.
