After the huge pathetic disappointment that was EP7, it's impossible to get excited or hyped over this

Agreed. Sad the star wars fanboys can't see it.
-
Hahahahaha

8.8/10 IGN - Star Wars episode 7. Y so bootyhurt/10 - your comment.
this is in satire and I hope you don't take offence.
-
Speak for yourself. TFA was great
-
Agreed! I really enjoyed it.
-
How was episode 7 an enormas disappointment?
-
The main plot is the same: A large enemy force is after a map (in TFA sense, part of a map), and are building a giant laser weapon. Meanwhile, the small force that is the good guys have to destroy the laser weapon. Oh, and someone major to the plot dies on said laser weapon in each movie.
-
Yes the story beets are the same, but there is so much different about those events compared to A New Hope. For example, both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Han Solo were killed on a super weapon. But there are plenty of differences: Obi-Wan was killed by his old friend that already was determined to kill him and sacrificed himself to become a Force Ghost as that is the only way he could further help Luke; Han Solo was slane by his son, who of which Han Solo was attempting to return to the Light and return home with him so they could be the family they never were. Major differences in context, which disregards the fact that the movie follows a similer plot setting.
-
And? If the main basis is identical to before, it's a copy
-
Are you part of any of forum of literature or film production?
-
There was nothing original in it, it was a carbon copy of a new Hope
-
Last time I checked Obi-Wan Kenobi was not killed in The Force Awakens, so how is it a carbon copy? Did it follow the same story structure, yes. That is not a problem because of how vastly different the movies are.
-
Because it was an average movie
-
An average movie would not gain 2.06 billion dollars in the box office.
-
So money = quality? Good logic.
-
It is good logic, glad you agree. As no "average" film would make 2 billion in the box office alone, that is not counting merchandise which is even larger in number. So yes, money equals quality in this situation.
-
So this average movie is actually good because of children's toys, tickets sold, and DVDs sold. Weird. It's still pretty average and unmemorable. Even a Star Wars story was better.
-
Edited by Mr JJ Rogers: 4/15/2017 12:27:53 AMYes, the amount of money a movie makes determines it quality. If it is good, people will tell their friends and they would tell theirs friends and so on. A movie such as Phantom Menace did not make the same figure, a movie that is critiqued heavily as an average movie. Because people told theirs friends that the movie was bad, and you know the rest. Also, what Star wars story are you talking about?
-
Edited by Olmeck: 4/15/2017 12:29:02 AMYes because when people talk about how good something is they talk about how much money it generated. Are you Donald Trump?
-
You misunderstood. The movie gained so much money because: It was a good Star wars movie which is already a huge franchise, people told other people that the movie was good so those recipients then went and watch the movie to then spread the same message to their friends. Also, no I do not believe I am lart of the Trump family.
-
You are still saying money made means it's a good movie. That is so laughable it's funny. Tetris is the best video game ever.
-
Edited by Mr JJ Rogers: 4/15/2017 12:47:38 AMOnce more, you misunderstand. I do not enjoy explaining things to those that are willfully ignorant, pay attention. But that is besides the point. Money doesn't amount to a good movie. Good movie gains more money. An average movie would not have made 2 billion dollars box office.

You're pathetic if conversations are about winning and losing. Pretentious asshat.
