Do the Atheon challenge and tell me you still want more than six people in a Raid.

I did the Challenge last night and it wasn't too bad. A raid would have to be built around the idea of 6+, retrofitting an old one wouldn't work well.

The point is communication and coordination. Anyone that's done the Atheon challenge i'm sure has suffered a catastrophic failure because one guy wasn't listening or paying attention. The more people you add that problem of trying to keep things organized gets worse and worse. Not to mention that larger team sizes usually end up dividing themselves into smaller groups anyway. In fact we already do it.

I almost feel once the number of players goes up, each player has less responsibility on them allowing for small mistakes or other to pick up the slack where necessary.
-
Then the obvious point becomes, if the extra players are disposable then what was the point of having them?
-
They wouldn't be. They'd still have an important role to fill in the team but it'd have to be somewhat similar to the Oracle phase of VoG; It's great to have all players available to kill Oracles but still possible if one or two fall. I'm not sure, I have no real idea how to go about making this plausible. I'm sure the Bungie Devs could figure something out though!
