If I were in that situation, I would do everything in my physical power to prevent that. I would knock them the -blam!- out if it meant saving them from jumping off a cliff.

Forcing someone to live through their own personal hell isn't "saving" them.

Obviously I'd take more steps to help them afterward. If they were going to commit suicide, they obviously have other issues I can assist in resolving.
