Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and аss.

Yes, and isn't a few hundred years enough time to repeal a law? Usually governments at the time lasted no longer than a few decades before their laws were torn down.
-
Governments don't claim to be perfect, omnipotent, and timeless. If god can change its mind about slaughtering babies, the fuсk gives it the right to judge anyone? Such flawed logic 😂
-
Governments don't claim to be perfect, omnipotent, and timeless.
What world do you live in? Roman Emperors sometimes claimed to be Gods, along with all Egyptian Pharos, most Chinese Emperors, etc.
If god can change its mind about slaughtering babies
Where did you get babies from?
, the fuсk gives it the right to judge anyone?
He sort of created them.
Such flawed logic 😂
Oh wow, an emoticon. That really proves your point.
-
That isn't the point. My OP Just because you create something does not mean you own it. We aren't slaves. *sigh*
-
Say I make a clay figurine out of, well, clay. I own that figurine, don't I?
-
Inanimate objects do not equate to living, sentient beings. Again, flawed logic.
1 Samuel 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and аss. #in the bible
- A specific group, Amalek's people. - They had 'filled their sin', or disobeyed Him for centuries I belive. Their time for repentance as a nation was over.
smite them for disobeying our god!

smite them for disobeying our god!

They were command to kill them. Certain people, certain way. Not like the ISIS "kill every unbeliever you find". God has his hand over people and nations. If said nation rebels, or is disobedient for a while, he draws his hand back. He did that with those people.

Read Romans chapters 8-9. Or read all of Romans, I hope that will answer your question.
-
No thanks. If I'm going to read fiction it is going to be something better written.
No thanks. If I'm going to read fiction it is going to be something better written.
Then you were never looking for enlightenment on the topic.
-
Raised with it and went to religious schools for 12 years. I have learned all I need to know on the subject. Christianity is as manmade as any of the other millions of human religions created over the millenniums.
-
I have learned all I need to know on the subject.
Did you ever read Romans, or more specifically, chapters 8-9?
Since you are so insistent, I will when I get home. I will private message after
Ok, and if you want more context for 8, read 7. It talks about how we are basically dead in sin.
#in the bible
So are a TON of other things that equally have nothing to do with the crusades. What's your point?
-
Yahweh is a war god used to justify the slaughter of thousands. No surprise the new and "improved" christian adoption of that god lead the crusades, killed nonbelievers, inquisition, etc. Man made as any other god.
-
1. Old testament. 2. Any verse taken out of context can sound bad.
-
1. In the Bible 2. What context is god ordering the slaughter of women, children, and babies good again?
