Sure is a lot of Ice Breaker
Hey remember about a year ago, the last time Bungie decided to try and reduce Special Weapon overuse by reducing Special Ammo?
and how it made everyone start just using Ice Breaker to get around that?
So they said... we don't want everyone forced to just use one weapon, and reverted that ammo nerf.
Yeah, well looks like they never really learned anything from that
because I sure am seeing a lot of Ice Breaker now....

Scouts with HCR and/or explosive rounds deal with them. Just don't run into sniper lanes. Yes, there are times when you are still going to get domed but that's the nature of the game. Being map aware will prevent a lot of sniper kills.

1 ReplyBecause we have two types of weapon now. Primary for shorter range and a special for longer if you're a sniper. A primary has its limits. If you're using a scout and a shitty rushes you you're fked. If you're using a last word range isn't gonna happen. That's why we use IB because we can still have two types of weapons.

Ice breaker was a lot worse regenerating much faster! And I think you spawned with full ammo.

2 RepliesWhat's wrong with people using IB? There are many better snipers! I use my ldr, 1000k, winged word and glass promontory all the time. Most of the people I'm matched up against who use the IB because they are lazy and they usually finish with a -kd, with some exceptions.

1 Replyyep, i immedietly notice that about the crucible after not playing for 6-10 months, with the special ammo cahnge and the loss of all special barring sidearms on deaht everyone and i mean practicelly -blam!-ING EVERYONE is using icebreaker, i see a team of 6 and 5 of them ar eusing icebreaker, and never having to worry about special ammo and NOTHING stops them, especially on teh large maps, hell saw three titans chaining bubbles and just sniping the ENTIRE -blam!-NIG GAME one match.

It's very obvious they are just putting their B team on the balancing of destiny at this point while anyone with more than a few brain cells is hopefully working on destiny 2.

6 RepliesI think all specials should kinda be like sidearms, so if u die with ammo you spawn with it but no reserves. But If u die with none you get nothing.

I honestly don't know which annoys me more. The fact that it's being used so much, or having to hear that sound over and over and over every fricking match.

Its used out of convenience and the sheer fact that just about every other exotic blows. If there were great exotic primaries or heck other specials people would be more choosey of what they run :)

Guilty as charged, except I only have my Year1 Ice Breaker, still have yet to get my hands on the newer version. Personally my favorite sniper just for how it sounds and its a High Impact which are my favorite kind. Also that Regen [i]*whistle*[/i] thats just the cherry on top.

I've been using a side arm but I think when trials comes back around I'll be using icebreaker as well.
