Yes, unfortunately there is sometimes a transitional period where the new content version is inaccessible to Bungie.Net. In that situation, we currently consider you to be using a "legacy platform" until the old content version is taken offline. This is an unfortunate limitation that we're hoping to clear up in the future, but for now expect launch day for patches to be a bit turbulent for the first hour or so after it goes live. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes!
